Similarities
There are a few similarities between Japanese traditional toys and Australian. For example, we also have spinning tops and similar European versions of kendama. We also have juggling balls which are very similar to otedama. Toys are used in all countries around the world as a way of learning and a form of entertainment so although they might be different in each country, the are similar and teach children similar lessons and still entertain. We have cards like menko, stilts like takeuma , dolls like kokeshi, kites like tako, and badminton which is similar to hanetsuki.
Differences
Our traditional toys also have many differences from Japan's. Although we do also have spinning tops, we don't generally have ones that use string to spin them. Our traditions mostly include games like skipping or elastics. Although we do have kites, ours aren't really made of significant people or characters, and we do have stilts but they are usually a bit different and they aren't made of bamboo and our dolls are mostly made of plastic
